Robbins 39 entire book is full of contrasts heroes and anti heroes camaraderie and betrayal cynicism and idealism funny stories and suffering still i cannot get rid of the impression that despite frequently mentioned patriotism air america pilots were mostly adventures who did it for money
Aside from the arguably inaccurate chapter dealing with air america 39 s trafficking of opium robbins 39 research was well received by both former air america personnel and eventually the cia i would recommend this book to any aviation history enthusiast who enjoys reading about the exploits of paramilitary aviation operations
