March 1, 2021 – Ready for some fun? This Friday, March 5, Coming 2 America movie premieres on Amazon Prime Video. Appropriately, Crown Royal, with its very real royallegacy (it was created in 1939 as a gift for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the first reigning monarchs to visit Canada) will honor the “royal” kingdom of Zamunda and its fantastical “royal family”. The famous purple bag has become a beautiful, limited edition, purple and gold-patterned bag clothing a bottle of Crown Royal Fine De Luxe Blended Canadian Whisky.
Set in the lush and mythical country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (ArsenioHall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough ofQueens, New York – where it all began. Here’s a sneak peek at the movie trailer.
Crown Royal collaborated with Oscar-winning costume designer, Ruth E. Carter, who explained, “I intentionally pulled patterns from the Zamunda Royal Family’s clothing worn in the film as I worked through the design of both the bag and custom packaging.”

Method: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the Crown Royal, lemon juice, tangerine juice, and simple syrup. Place the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for one minute, until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
Add fresh ice to a rocks glass, then strain the cocktail into the glass. Hold a spoon upside down over the glass, close to the surface, and slowly pour ½ ounce of the blueberry juice over the spoon on top of the drink.
*To make blueberry juice: Blend one cup of ripe blueberries and half a cup of water in a blender until smooth, about two minutes. Add one teaspoon of lemon juice and pulse once or twice to combine. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve (or cheesecloth, for a smoother juice) into a small bowl. Set aside until ready to use. Blueberry juice will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
